THE CREW MEMBER ROLE:
  • Level: intermediate to advanced
  • Remuneration:  Up to $20.00/hr depending on experience and commitment. Additionally, as a professional employer, i-DIG provides their full-time gardeners with auto-deposit of your bi-weekly pay cheque, submits and contributes to your EI and taxes, pays applicable holiday and statutory pay, and supplies professional grade tools as well as t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, jackets, gloves, and hats.
  • Hours: Seasonal and weather dependent. Full time estimated April-July and September-November; part time hours estimated for the remainder of the year.


THE WORK:
Expect to work hard and dig in to all the hands-on tasks of landscape installation, rejuvenation, and maintenance.
  • Crew ride a bicycle with a pull a tools cart towed behind, from site-to-site.
  • Crew need a strong back, as we rarely employ machinery to do the heavy lifting.
  • And we are a clean-air, equal opportunity employer;  smoking is absolutely not allowed within 500 meters of a co-worker, client, or client property.

ABOUT YOU
  • Bondable
  • Reliable and ethical
  • 2 years minimum equivalent experience as a professional gardener
  • Strong plant knowledge
  • Long-term interest in stewarding the successful growth of the company
  • Physically capable of performing the tasks required
  • Able to ride a bike and pull a cart weighing 50+ lbs up a gentle hill
  • Mechanically inclined [can change a bicycle tire and fix the chain]
  • Takes instruction well
  • Technical knowledge of landscape installation an asset
  • Experience with sustainable and organic landscape practices an asset
  • Academic education in horticulture an asset.
